FURTHER RESEARCH (MEDIA PROJECT II)
Hello, for a different module, Context Studies in Art, Design, and Media, I wrote the essay including initial research for my article 'How does social media support a healthy lifestyle?'.
What I included?
An online article Afghanistan: Why Biden is pulling the US -- and NATO -- out of the country to CNN by Christiane Amanpour. It helped me to understand the structure and language of the article. I have learned that I should use formal, academic language. The writing should be separated into paragraphs when I will start writing about the different ideas. Firstly I should introduce what is the topic of my article.
Two online articles: The 10 best fitness apps by Hannah Nichols and The best fitness and Exercise Apps of 2021 by Tim Jewell. It gave me some insight into which applications that promote a healthy lifestyle are the best these days. I have learned what to include when I will be writing about applications. For instance how much customers have to pay for the services, what is the target audience, and on what devices people can download it.
A book Physical Activity Across the Lifespan: Prevention and Treatment for Health and Well-Being written by Aleta L. Meyer and Thomas P. Gullotta. It gave me information about sports activities for young people and how an active life is important to our well-being. I have learned what benefits people can gain when their start to led more active life. It is important in the development of young people. Also, it is essential to show the audience that sports activities could be fun and present interesting ideas to spend time energetically. For instance, outdoor activities such as tennis or football.
Right now I would like to focus on further research.
I found a book Food and You written by Bijelefed, Majolijn, Zoumbaris, and Sharon K in the DMU library. It contains information about nutrition for young people, what to eat to stay healthy, and preparing healthy meals. These advices will be useful to support my writing. I have learned what to eat to have a balanced diet and what kind of food to avoid. For instance, people should not eat processed food and focus on natural ingredients. Also, I gain knowledge of what kind of tone I should use in my writing. I should choose an optimistic tone to support and encourage my target audience to start new actions in their lives.
Healthy Tips for Healthy Living (2019) is the following piece of writing I have researched. From this article, I have learned what means healthy living is generally. It contains advice on what to do or not do to stay healthy. I understood that it is important to include a warning of things that negatively affect a healthy lifestyle in my writing. Due to it, I was inspired to add to my writing an application QuitNow that promotes quitting smoking. Even if people will be eating healthy and exercise they still will be led unhealthy lifestyles, cause of smoking. That's why it is important to eliminate it.
Healthy lifestyle: 5 keys to a longer life (2020), encourage people to follow up 5 methods to enjoy a longer life. The online article explains how exercise and a healthy diet make a difference in our lives. In my writing in addition to the recommendations of the application and website that promote a healthy lifestyle, I should also write what positives people will gain by changing their lives. I have learned that eating healthier will led to better skin conditions. Also, people who are active are sleeping better and they are less likely to experience stress or depression.

The research here is not appropriate at this level. Research is not just saying you have looked at something with no or minimal critical commentary. You need to actually discuss these articles in detail with critical commentary on your blog and explain how this informed your work. Show examples of your own writing to exemplify this.
