 ESSAY RESEARCH

Hello, today I will be doing research for my essay.

Diane Arbus was a controversial American photographer, known for excellent portraits and unusual subjects. She was creating her work in twenty century. Since childhood, the woman was interested in art. She killed herself at 48 aged.

 PHOTOGRAPHS

One of the iconic photographs from Diane Arbus is Identical Twins in black and white colors. The image presents two young girls, twins. They are standing against the wall and looking straight at the camera. Artist noticed them at a small-town Christmas party. Sisters are wearing identical dresses and headbands. Everything looks normal, but with extended browsing, we can notice the difference in the facial features of girls. The title seems to be abstract and makes the audience respond, ask questions.

The second iconic and controversial photography from Diane Arbus is Jewish Giant, taken at Home with His Parents in the Bronx. The image of the over seven feet tall male with parents was taken in black and white color. J.ewish man had abnormal growth as the result of an illness called gigantism. In the photo, we can notice a contrast between him and his parents, this exertion underlines the height of the male

The next unusual photography from Diane Arbus is Jack Dracula, The Marked Man. The photography was taken in black and white colors, present a male without a t-shirt. His body and face are covered with tattoos. Society often associates that kind of look with people who are a part of a gang or have a criminal history. The title of the images we can interpret as ''the marked man by society''.

  1. It is good to see you have started the research for your set essay, but please be advised that is it not necessary to include all of this on your blog. You only have to complete the set essay exercises of week two. The other posts should mainly be focused on your project work.
