CRITICALLY EVALUATING MY WEBSITE

 CRITICALLY EVALUATING MY WEBSITE

My reflections:

Planning stage:

I created the website for my major project, the subject I chose is media and communication such as my field of study at University. That's why the name is 'Media and communication'.

I chose a template 'Coaching Proffesional' because of the visual look. I wanted to have that arrangement on my blog.

Research:

Before I have made a website I researched another one. I was inspired by the portal site https://www.alexbrzezicka.com/.
On my website are four pages ( Home, About, Portfolio, Contact). This is all I need to publish my work. On the 'About' page are information about me and why the website was created. 'Portfolio' page I will use to add the feature article and the 'Contact' page is to contact me, ask questions about my work.

Content:

The purpose of my website is to share my piece of writing. It was my first website so the ability to create it will be useful to me in the future.
My potential website users are young people, students. They could compare their website to mine, get inspired.
I think it is important to have a digital portfolio website if we plan our future work with Media. Also, these days everything is going on through the internet.

Design:

On my 'Home' page I use a photo of Vogue magazines from Unsplash which match the subject of the website 'Media and communication'. Most of my texts are change in the red colour to attract audience attention. On the 'About' page I add a professional portrait I took with my camera phone.

Navigation:

I add a social media button( blogger). It appears on every page. 'Contact'page works smoothly, so it is easy to navigate.

  1. It would be best to include the actual questions from the handout in your blog post. This is a good start, but you could discuss this more in-depth. I don't think you should aim your website at young people and students who can compare their website to yours and get inspired. This is your digital portfolio and should be focused on presenting your work and yourself to the world as someone that an employer or university would want.

  2. You have not posted any work this week and have responded very little to feedback on previous posts. Please make sure you improve your previous post and complete all of the work discussed in the sessions this week.
